Janisse Ray: Lessons from the Lost Glaciers: Nature, Community & the Politics of Wholeness

The Southern Arizona Geographers Association (SAGA), invites the public to a lecture by acclaimed author and environmentalist Janisse Ray to be held on Thursday, March 1, in the Student Union's Tucson Room. The event will commence at 7:00pm and will be preceded by a reception at 6:30pm. Ray is the celebrated author of such books as, Ecology of a Cracker Childhood, Wild Card Quilt, and Pinhook. Ray has also had essays and poems published in a diverse array of magazines and periodicals and has received a number of notable awards, including the Southeastern Booksellers Award for Nonfiction in 1999, a Before Columbus Society American Book Award in 2000, the Southern Environmental Law Center 2000 Award for Outstanding Writing on the Southern Environment, and the Southern Book Critics Circle Award for Nonfiction in 2000.
