Research

I am interested in the conflict between state and non-state actors in the increasingly complex geopolitics of the Levantine Middle East. My research focuses on contemporary methods of occupation and demodernization through both military and civilian institutions, and the ways that these occupational strategies are circumvented and challenged by the occupied.
